ESSENTIAL CAMPING EQUIPMENT
Camping can be a very enjoyable way to spend time outdoors, but it is even more enjoyable when you have the right equipment. If you are planning a camping trip, then make sure you include these essentials on your list.
Tent And Sleeping Bag
Sleeping under the stars may seem like a good idea, but you do need some shelter from the wind, and any rain that may fall. It can get a lot colder than you might think at night, and so being able to get inside a sleeping bag can make things a lot more comfortable.
Water Bottle
When you are camping, you don’t want to be caught without a good supply of clean drinking water. You should take a large container of water with you, even if you are not straying too far.
First Aid Kit
Hopefully your trip will pass without any incident, but a big part of camping is being prepared. A first aid kit with supplies such as sun screen, insect repellent, bandages and antiseptic should cover most eventualities.
Waterproof Clothing
If you get caught in a downpour, it can be uncomfortable to have to stay in wet clothes and if the weather is really cold, can even cause hypothermia. Waterproof jackets and trousers are a must, and a waterproof covering for your backpack can also be useful.
Flashlight
A flashlight can be useful if you want to move away from the tent during the night, to use the bathroom facilities for example. If you want to be completely hands free, then you may want to consider a headlamp.
Map or GPS Device
If you are planning on doing any walking or hiking during your trip, then a map or device with GPS is crucial. It is all too easy to wander away from your campsite and be unable to find your way back, especially if staying somewhere remote.
